Kaka Hathrasi was a famous comic poet of India. He was considered the author of Hindi comic poems. He used to entertain millions of people through his comic poems. The famous Hathrasi poet of Hindi humor was born on 18 September 1906 in Hathras. Kaka Hathrasi’s real name was ‘Prabhulal Garg’, he was very fond of playing plays in his childhood. He played the role of ‘Kaka’ in a drama, since then Prabhulal Garg became famous as ‘Kaka’. His father’s name was Shivlal Garg and mother’s name was Barfi Devi.

Only 15 days after the birth of Kaka Hathrasi ji, his father died due to a terrible epidemic. He had two brothers. Just then the bad days of his family started. Due to poor financial condition of the family, Kaka ji continued his struggle and did small jobs and continued to practice his poems, compositions and music.
After the death of his father, he went to live with his maternal uncle in Iglas. He sold chaat-dumplings in childhood and did a small job as an accountant. Kaka Hathrasi ji was married to Ratan Devi at the age of 16, but he was fond of poetry since childhood. He used to write poems on anyone. He also wrote a poem on his uncle’s neighbor Vakil Saheb, some lines of which are as follows –

Kaka Hatharsi got respect Kaka Hathrasi Awards
In 1989, Kaka was honored with the honor of ‘Honorable Citizen’ by Valtymour of America. Kaka Hathrasi ji also acted in the film Jamuna Kinare. Kaka also received awards in his name – ‘Kaka Hathrasi Award’, ‘Kaka Hathrasi Music Award’. Kaka was called to the Delhi Poets Conference in 1957. There he read in his poetic style and created a different identity. In 1966, Kaka ji was honored in the program of Braj Kala Kendra. In 1985, he was conferred the title of ‘Padma Shri’ by President Giani Zail Singh.
