Introduction to Nitnem Path List
The word Nitnem means ‘daily prayers’. It is a collection of Gurbani recitations that Sikh followers recite every day. The purpose of Nitnem is to spiritually empower a person and inspire him to connect with the divine. Nitnem Paaths include various portions of Gurbani, which have been composed by the Sikh Gurus. These Paaths are performed in the morning, evening, and night and are an important part of the daily life of Sikh followers.
Each Path has its own specific significance. For example, Japji Sahib provides spiritual knowledge, Jaap Sahib describes the virtues of God, and Rehiras Sahib helps to calm a person’s mind in the evening. Similarly, Sukhmani Sahib is recited to attain peace and happiness. Through these Paaths, Sikh followers follow the Guru’s words and imbibe virtues like truth, humility, and service in their lives.
Nitnem path not only show the path to spiritual advancement but also motivate a person to lead a disciplined and inspired life.
