Kalpana Chawla Birth, Marriage and Family

Kalpana Chawla was born on 17 March 1962 in Karnal district of Haryana. His mother’s name was Sanjyoti Chawla and father’s name was Banarsilal Chawla .

There were 4 siblings in the family. His two sisters were Deepa and Sunita. Apart from this, there was also a brother Sanjay.

Kalpana Chawla Career

Kalpana Chawla earned her Ph.D. After completing 1988 work started at NASA Ames Research Center. His research work there was to see the flow of air around the aircraft.

In 1993, he joined California as a research scientist, where she was a team leader. The task of that team was to look at the simulation of moving multiple body problem.

Kalpana Chawla was selected to NASA in 1994. After that, he joined the 15th group there as an astronaut at Johnson Space Center. Various research papers written by Kalpana Chawla have also been published in many places.

Kalpana Chawla Mission Details

Kalpana Chawla joined the Space Passenger Corps from NASA in 1994 and was selected for its first flight. Kalpana traveled a total of 1.04 crore miles in her first mission. In which he revolved 252 of the earth and spent 360 hours in space.
